Welcome one and all to Sappho’s Isle, Victoria’s first all-Sapphic burlesque show!
A celebration of queer art and artists, join us for a night of all things sultry, sensual and Sapphic. Along with an all-Sapphic cast, Sappho’s Isle will also be host to local queer vendors.
The show will take place April 11 at the VEC, doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Both general admission and VIP tickets are available now!
Sappho’s Isle is the maiden voyage of Ink Splatters Productions, a queer-focused production company started by Missy Ink.
The show will feature Serra Moanie, Minx Latinx, Maverick, Holly Shirt, Hazel Nuez, Wander Lost, Miss Claire Marie and Missy Ink, as well as Shirley A Tease and Sapphic Content as the dynamic duo Lusty and Busty.
Some of the merch available from our fabulous local vendors includes hand-crafted earrings, hand-printed patches, resin work and prints of original paintings.
The show will run approximately two hours, with nine acts including a tip number, and a 15 minute intermission.
This show will take place on the unceded and unsurrendered lands of the Lkwungen-speaking people of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. These Indigenous peoples have been on this land since time immemorial and are still here today. Most of us are uninvited guests here on this land and it is a great privilege we have to be able to create here.
Ink Splatters strives to be a safe and inclusive space for all people and to produce shows that are representative of the beautiful diversity in our community. We committed to creating a sex positive, anti-racist, queer-friendly, body positive and accessible environment at their shows. Performers and audience members will also be held to these standards so that anyone can come into this space and enjoy the art that is being put on stage.

Accessibility at the VEC is an ongoing project, and we continue to work to make the space more accessible to all kinds of folks. There are also a lot of different barriers to accessibility that have been identified, that we continue to work on. As part of this process, we ask guests: If you are able to do so, use the Broad Street stair entrance and multi-user washroom. There is only one accessible entrance and washroom, help make sure those who need it can use it. Do not move tables or chairs without venue permission. Keep aisles clear at all times and please return your glassware to the bar.
≫ Substance Use Policy ≪
As per our liquor license we have a zero tolerance policy for outside alcohol in our venue. Bag checks can be performed by security and outside alcohol will be confiscated. There is no smoking or vaping allowed inside the venue. We may refuse liquor service at any time, but commit to practices that are non-judgemental of intoxication, regardless of its form, cause, or base substance and we will treat everyone with dignity and respect. We may, in some situations, have to ask intoxicated people to leave our venue due to circumstances that put the safety of others at risk. We will not do this lightly, or without significant reason. If you require assistance at anytime please come to a staff member for support. See our full policy here: https://victoriaeventcentre.ca/about/transparency/
