Souper Bowls of Hope 2024

Souper Bowls of Hope, a popular lunchtime fundraiser supporting the Victoria Youth Empowerment Society (YES) is returning this fall with a new approach to raising awareness and donations to support youth at-risk in Greater Victoria.

YES knows that the world is a better place when youth have the supports they need to be successful in their lives. YES continues to see the needs of youth grow each year, and finds innovated ways to meet youth where they are at, including the launch of a Youth Food Pantry in October 2024 to combat the food insecurity youth are facing.

Named for the hearty soups and one-of-a-kind pottery bowls that each event guest receives as a thank you gift, Souper Bowls of Hope 2024 will be held at the Union Club on Tuesday, October 24th. This year there will be two sittings of lunch, one at 11:00am and one at 1:15pm. Attendees, better known as Souper Heroes to the event’s organizers can choose which time will work best for them.

While attending the event, attendees will be given opportunities to see firsthand how their support is changing lives and be invited to connect with YES throughout the year so they can follow the stories of hope from YES’ clients.

Souper Bowls of Hope has raised more than $1.3 million since it began in 1998 to support vulnerable youth across the capital regional district.

ABOUT VICTORIA YOUTH EMPOWERMENT SOCIETY:
Victoria Youth Empowerment Society has been assisting Victoria’s street youth since 1992 by offering alternatives and tools for healthier lifestyle choices. Starting with the Helen’s Place (formerly known as the Alliance Club); a downtown drop-in center, providing basic needs and relief from the street, youth are introduced to all the programs YES provides including emergency shelter, youth detox, life skills programming, youth and family support services, supported independent living and a summer opportunities program.
