LAW DAY 2026

LAW DAY is back by popular demand! Join us for LAW DAY on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:30am to 2:30pm at the Victoria courthouse downtown (850 Burdett Avenue). Free admission and fun for the whole family!

Law Day is an annual event when the courthouse is opened to members of the public on a Saturday to allow them to learn about the functions of the justice system. You can learn about the roles played by lawyers, judges and courthouse staff in ensuring a fair and independent justice system; and about legal and other justice-related services available in Victoria and surrounding areas.
ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
-Zootopia 2 themed mock trial with roles played by local talent;
-A K9 demonstration by the Saanich Police Department;
-Tours of the holding cells and Sheriff’s van conducted by the Sheriffs;
-“Passport to Justice” contest with great prizes;
-Judges’ Talk and Q+A;
-Food vendors; and
-Information booths from justice-related organizations.
