Additional Event Information
Corduroy Aspect:
Punk/Alternative from Vic
Sylvia Platters:
Keen appreciation for melody and melancholy is The Sylvia Platters’ stock in trade. Described by Rosy Overdrive as “one of the best guitar pop bands going,” the Abbotsford band has been crafting idiosyncratic janglepop gems since 2014. Their indelible lyrics are set against bright, tuneful guitar work, dark, steady basslines, and propulsive drums. Vivian Elixir, released spring 2024 on Grey Lodge Records, reached #7 on the national !earshot campus and community radio charts and earned the band Best Rock Artist at the Fraser Valley Music Awards.
Rashdale:
Alternative / Metal / Punk from Victoria
Teenage Art Scene:
Hailing from Victoria, B.C., Rupert Yakelashek continues the tradition of diy rock and pop under the guise of his power-pop-fuelled project Teenage Art Scene. With nods to Pixies, Guided by Voices, the Strokes and Sloan, Teenage Art Scene’s hooks, fuzzed-out riffs and soaring melodies are as big, bright and slick as they come.

This event is taking place on the traditional, stolen, unceded land of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. We acknowledge the rich cultural history of the many peoples and rituals that have been affected by the ongoing process of dispossession and colonialism. We hold this understanding in our interactions and engagements with this land and its people.
