Bundle up in your most outrageous knits for a cozy, family-style jam session at Quadratic Sound! We’re excited to bring you a special edition of our Open Jam Night – the “Ugly Sweater Open Jam” featuring the dynamic musical talents of Zuber, Frederika Ionescu, and Sean Duhaime.

The night begins with an eclectic performance by Zuber, showcasing a blend of genres that will set the stage for an evening of musical diversity and excitement.

After Zuber’s performance, the stage opens up for a jam session where all aspiring musicians and music enthusiasts are welcome. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or someone who simply loves to jam, this is your moment to shine. Bring your instruments and join in the fun – it’s a celebration of community and music.

The jam session will then lead into a captivating duo performance by Frederika Ionescu and Sean Duhaime. Their harmonious collaboration promises to be a unique musical experience.

Following their performance, the stage will once again open for more jamming, keeping the energy high and the music flowing. It’s a night dedicated to musical exploration, connections, and the sheer joy of jamming.

Think your sweater is the ugliest of them all? Flaunt it! We’ll be giving out prizes for the most creatively hideous sweaters, so let your festive spirit run wild.

Zuber:

Zuber carries the tropical moon in his pocket and a mischievous spirit from Bali on his shoulder. By way of music, he plays in the blurred lines between Jazz, RnB, Soul and Hip-Hop. His originals touch on subjects of the human condition, such as love, being broke, rebellion, seasons changing, kinship, grief, celebration, the ecology, and at least one song about Pokémon.

His favourite thing about winter is recording season with his band HOT POT.

Frederika Ionescu:

Frederika Ionescu is a New York based vocalist and composer having found her footing originally in British Colombia, Canada. Currently in her first year of graduate studies at The New School, she brings her original music through the worlds of RnB, Jazz, Soul and Funk. Home for the holidays, she hopes to bring in a mix of anyone willing to have fun and play whatever music they want to celebrate the end of another year!

Their favourite thing about winter is spending time with family and relaxing.

Sean Duhaime:

Sean Duhaime is a guitarist and session musician. He has been performing as a bandleader, collaborator, and sideman with numerous bands and musicians for over 10 years. He had studied and went to masterclasses with musicians such as Vic Juris, Ben Monder, Oz Noy, John Geggie, Mark Ferguson and Jonathan Kreisberg. On March 21st, 2020, Sean released his latest EP entitled “Opportunity” on the website Bandcamp which also has four original tracks, including a single released in 2019, ‘I Can’t Dance’.

His favorite Christmas drink is eggnog with bailey’s.
