SUMMARY:Step Aboard the Historic Argonaut II in a Guided Tour
DESCRIPTION:Discover 104 years of Pacific Northwest maritime history aboard Argonaut II\, a historic 73-foot wooden vessel opening to the public for two days of guided tours in Victoria’s Inner Harbour. \nHosted by owner Nicholas Verrochi in partnership with the Maritime Museum of BC\, these special 30-minute tours offer a rare opportunity to explore the vessel and step inside her preserved 1930s interior while learning about the vessel’s fascinating history and ongoing restoration. \nEvery ticket directly supports the restoration of Argonaut II and public programming at the Maritime Museum of BC. Your ticket also includes free same-day admission to the museum\, making it a perfect opportunity to explore more of British Columbia’s maritime heritage. \nSpace is limited\, and advance booking is recommended. Reserve your tour time slot today! \nAbout Argonaut II: \nOriginally launched as the corporate yacht Greta M\, she was acquired by the United Church of Canada in 1934 and rechristened the Thomas Crosby IV. For over 30 years\, she served as a crucial lifeline to more than 50 remote Northern BC ports of call\, visiting isolated lighthouses\, canneries\, logging camps\, and First Nations villages. During this era\, she was skippered by the renowned Haida leader Rev. Dr. Peter Kelly\, the first Indigenous person ordained in the United Church of Canada. \n  \nTours are made possible through the generous support of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority.
