SUMMARY:Conversations In Colour
DESCRIPTION:Experience the fusion of colour\, form\, and words in Margo cooper’s abstract figurative paintings.\nThe abstract figurative paintings in this new exhibition by Margo Cooper encourage individual interpretation and emotional response\, with titles that suggest themes without prescribing meaning. The show’s title\, Conversations In Colour\, reflects both the vivid palette and an invitation to viewers to converse with the art\, each other\, and members of the Gage Gallery’s 21 artist collective. To deepen this engagement\, a writing area encourages visitors to share their reflections either publicly or privately. \nGallery Hours Tuesday to Sunday\, 11 am to 5 pm \nOpening Reception Thursday\, June 4\, 6-8 pm \nInspired Writing Night Tuesday\, June 16\,  7-9 pm \nMargo firmly believes in the enriching power of art and wants everyone to have a chance to experience the transformative effects of creativity. She now paints full time in her upstairs studio at the Gage Second Story and guests are always welcome. Book ahead at margocooper@shaw.ca or take a chance and ask if she’s in when you’re visiting the gallery.

SUMMARY:FLOW Film Premiere (Victoria\, BC)
DESCRIPTION:Explore the journeys of women in adventure sports from around the world at the Canadian premiere of this inspiring new documentary\, Flow.\nThis powerful independent documentary explores the lives of women in adventure sports—sharing stories that challenge stereotypes\, confront systemic barriers\, and foster connection across cultures. Directed by Czech filmmaker Honza Považan and produced by Victoria-based Grace Gorman\, Flow blends breathtaking cinematography with intimate storytelling\, following women in sports such as whitewater kayaking\, climbing\, and highlining. \nOur Victoria premiere is especially meaningful as the creators and co-producers of the project\, Denisa Krásná and Alena Rainsberry\, will be travelling from the Czech Republic and the United States to present the film in person! Their book\, Flow: Women’s Counternarratives from Rivers\, Rock\, and Sky\, will be available for purchase during intermission from local publisher Rocky Mountain Books. A 15-minute Q&A session with the producers will take place after the screening and book signing.
