We are very excited to announce our artist residency with local Victoria artist Andrea Simmonds!
From January 11th-27th you can find Andrea Simmonds creating her artwork, right here in the Gallery.
Simmonds studies plant relationships with complementary species and translates this information into paintings. Much of her work is focused on the Garry oak ecosystem, capturing some of the rare and unique plants it encompasses. She aims to help people better understand this rare ecosystem through the plants that define it. Simmonds received her BA from Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, QC, and is currently studying for her MFA with Emily Carr University (2024 candidate).
This is a fantastic opportunity to meet this incredibly talented artist and see her process in real time! We invite you to come support Andrea Simmonds and enjoy an intimate look into her work.
JANUARY 11th – 27th
